ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We’re transforming the way we deliver and run technology here at Lloyds Banking Group. We’re developing creative solutions, adopting innovative technologies, and moving fast to better serve our customers.
To do this safely, our technology must be highly resilient, available and responsive. It needs to recover quickly when things go wrong, and we must understand any weak points so we can address them rapidly and effectively.
This means managing technology risk in a clearer, smarter and more proactive way. We want technology risk to be described in the right language, owned by the right people, and surfaced in the right decision making forums. We want to move beyond process and help leaders truly understand the real world impact of technology risk on our customers.
We’re using operational data to understand our risk position in real-time and track how our exposure is changing. And as we adopt new, exciting technologies, we’re ensuring robust technical guardrails are in place making it easy for engineers to do the right thing, and harder to do the wrong thing.
HOW CAN YOU HELP US MAKE THIS HAPPEN?
We’re looking for capable, articulate and motivated individuals with a strong technology background and a passion for making complex systems safer, more resilient and easier to operate.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This role is aimed at technologists, not traditional risk consultants.
You’ll thrive here if you:
-
Understand how technology is engineered, operated and changed.
-
Enjoy translating complex technical risks into simple, actionable insight.
-
Want to shape how a major UK bank manages technology risk at enterprise scale.
-
Care deeply about building resilient systems that work reliably for millions of customers.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Core Skills & Competencies
-
Strong operational experience in IT systems risk within complex or financial environments.
-

-
Practical expertise in areas such as:

Or broad exposure across asset management, service management, cloud, DevOps, engineering, resilience, networking, storage, operating systems, virtualisation and containerisation.

-
Deep understanding of operational risk frameworks, regulations and industry standards.
-
Experience setting Group level policy, defining risk appetite and monitoring exposure.
-
Ability to interpret complex information, identify trends and make clear recommendations.
-
Forward looking insight into new regulation, emerging risks and evolving technology.
Influencing & Leadership
-
Proven experience partnering across Risk Owners, Control Owners and Control Offices.

-
A collaborative leader who can coach, influence and connect risk thinking to long term business goals.
WHAT YOU’LL GET IN RETURN
We want you to feel supported, empowered and able to shape your own future. You’ll experience a collaborative, inclusive culture that values ideas, experimentation and continuous learning.
You’ll also receive:
-
A performance-based share bonus
-
A generous pension contribution
-
Consolidated flex cash in your salary
-
Private health cover
