JOB TITLE: Senior Technical Applications Support Specialist – Environments
LOCATION: Halifax or Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, minimum 40% in the office
Pay Range: £70,929 – £78,021
About this opportunity
As a Senior Technical Application Specialist specialising in Test Environment Services, you’ll drive technical delivery by coordinating and integrating complex components across multiple Labs and third parties. You’ll work closely with engineering roles and environment specialists to ensure dependencies are managed and solutions are delivered at pace.
This is a hands-on role where your technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and understanding of the LBG estate will be key to delivering fit-for-purpose environments that support major programmes and transformation initiatives.

Day to day, you’ll:
- Capture and coordinate test environment requirements across Labs and platforms
- Manage end-to-end delivery of environments for SIT, NFT, and UAT phases
- Collaborate with architects, QA leads, engineers, and third parties
- Track environment releases, upgrades, and incidents
- Document connectivity and third-party interfaces
- Control environment costs and drive efficiency
- Identify and resolve technical blockers and RAID items
- Support environment incident resolution and stability
- Continuously improve environment processes and services
What you’ll need:
- Strong technical background in environment provisioning and management
- Understanding of Route-to-Live complexities and infrastructure delivery
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and transitioning applications
- Familiarity with banking platforms (Branch, Telephony, Digital, Mortgages, Payments)
- Knowledge of tooling and tech strategy across the LBG estate
- Experience in Technical Recovery, Incident & Problem Management
- Ability to lead multiple deliveries and manage stakeholders
- Strong organisational awareness and communication skills
- Experience with change methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall)

- Multi-channel and multi-layered estate knowledge (front/middle/back end)
