We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an international legal firm, for an experienced Financial Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take on a pivotal role within a well-established finance function, working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to high-quality management and statutory reporting across the business.
THE ROLE
As a key member of the Management Accounts team, the Financial Accountant will support accurate reporting, strong financial controls and informed decision-making across the firm. The role offers broad exposure across the business, including interaction with Heads of Department, overseas finance teams and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Assist with budgeting for central support departments and fee-earner groups
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
- Support year-end close, statutory accounts and audit processes
- Provide technical accounting input, including FRS 102 guidance
- Work closely with Heads of Department and senior stakeholders
- Contribute to finance systems improvements and ad-hoc projects
THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for a technically strong, proactive accountant who enjoys working collaboratively in a professional services environment. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of attention to detail, confident communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- ACA qualified (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
- Background in professional services — law firm experience is desirable
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and high attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
- Experience with Elite 3E is beneficial
