Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Guest and eCommerce Architect to join our Technology department on a full time basis. The role will be based at our London, Bankside office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.
Key Accountabilities
Guest & eCommerce Architecture Design: Develop scalable, resilient microservices architectures for enterprise systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness, security, and alignment with business goals and future growth. Define service boundaries, communication protocols, and modularity to decouple legacy platforms.
Technical Leadership: Guide development teams in microservices best practices, ensuring adherence to principles like domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven architecture, and API-first development. Oversee technical decisions to maintain architectural consistency.
Cloud & DevOps Integration: Implement microservices in cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD, containerization, and automation for efficient deployments.
Performance & Security Optimization: Monitor and improve microservices performance, scalability, and reliability. Ensure security across services with standards for API security, identity management, and encryption. Conduct performance tuning and vulnerability assessments.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with product, development, and operations teams to meet business and technical requirements. Facilitate communication across teams to ensure consistency and avoid duplication.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on eCommerce trends and drive continuous improvements in service agility, performance, and scalability. Evolve architecture in response to new technologies and business needs.
